Denise attended Law School at Northwestern School of Law, Lewis and Clark College, where she graduated magna cum laude. She earned a certificate in Environmental Law.
Denise clerked for the Vancouver law firm of Blair Schaefer Hutchison and Wolfe during law school, and was hired as an associate with that firm after completing the Oregon and Washington State bar examinations. She became the first woman partner at that firm. She then worked with two of her colleagues from BSHW for several years before embarking on her solo practice.
Denise is a licensed attorney in Washington and Oregon. She has provided legal representation to small and large businesses, municipalities, and individuals.
She is actively involved in the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of Leadership Clark County. She is the past president of the St. Helen’s Chapter of Washington Women Lawyers and a founding member and past president of the Animal Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association. She is actively involved in community theater and enjoys horseback riding and dog training.
Denise was born and raised in Billings, Montana. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing, from Indiana University, which is consistently ranked as one of the top business schools in the country. She began her career in retail management and moved to the Northwest to work for Meier & Frank department store. While raising her family, she worked for the City of Camas.
